well hello my beautiful family and friends!
so what can i say i'm a terrible blogger, its a fact! My mom keeps telling me to write another blog so we'll see how this goes : )
So now I've been gone almost 5 weeks (since I was in PA for a week). I've never been away from home longer then 5 weeks so we'll see how this goes! But I really feel like this is becoming home to me. I guess I can tell partly by the way I've become so bad at journaling which I am usely really good at when I'm on trips : ) And also as much as i miss home it makes me really sad to think about leaving Nepal.
So a quick recap of some highlights...
- walking to the chirldrens meetings with some nepali ladies and randomly getting a ride from some people in a truck
- the amazing times i've spent having a quite time and reading my bible
- Jenn making the most amazing bagels
- wed. afternoon bible study with the Nepali ladies
- making necklesses with some nepali ladies every wednesday
- eating an amazing cinnamon roll at higher grounds bakery, yumm
- meeting and spending time with Sarah Beth
- making pizza!
- playing with the kids!
- getting a new bed in my room and then rearanging it : )
- swiming
- hummm and so many other things that i can't remember right now : )
So I got to talk with my family and Emma today which was amazing! I really miss you all!
Oh man its so good some of the kids got chicken poxs and I was kinda nervous that I was going to get them but i didn't! Praise Jesus (yup thats for you pastor greg haha) Somehow I've stayed quite healthy I've been taking my vitimans and drinking lots of water (filtered water) and its been good!
Well rememeber to keep Nepal in your prayers!

the five senses
so i decided for you to better picture Nepal i am going to share with you the 5 senses of what I find my time in Nepal to consist of...
see - mountains, trash, people, cows, cars, scooters.
hear - people spiting (it sounds as though they are about to throw up), cows mooing, dogs barking, rain
taste - Dal bat!
smell - car fumes, trash, b.o. , cows.
touch - hugs, hands, food
So in other news, we have been out of water! You know living her makes me appreciate life in America so much more. We take so many things for granted that we are so blessed to have! Like water. Who would have ever guessed you could just not have water. So last night I couldn't wash my hands, wash my face, or brush my teeth. Well I could have brushed my teeth but I've been rationing out my drinking water and decided I would rather stay hydrated then have clean teeth for bed : ) But this morning Me and Leah went to a gym near by and got to swim for awhile and then we showered! It was so amazing! Oh and guess what?! I got a new swim suit! I didn't even think about bringing one with me so when we were at the store the other day they had some. It is the coolest swim suit you've ever seen. hahaha It is one of those one piece suits with the skirt on it and the best part...it came with a matching swim cap! No lie! And yes I wore the suit and cap today at the pool just so I could look as cool as the Nepali ladies. I mean they sure beat the guys in speedos!
well i'm out - hope you all are having a wonderful week! when you wash your hands and drink lots of clean water think of me! : )

Hello!!!
wow. I am so sorry I haven't written on this since I left! I keep thinking about it but then when it actually came down to being on the Internet I choose emails over blogging.
Well I'm in Nepal! Thank you so much for all the prayers on my traveling days, it all went very smooth and uneventful.
humm what to tell you about Nepal. The kids in the orphanage are great! They have been so fun to hang out with! I get to help them with homework (yes some of them have to check there math which is probably not a good idea!) at 7am then we eat some breakfast and they go to school. I've also been helping the children's ministry which is in the slums on Tues. and at the bible college on Fri.
The ministry to the slums was heart wrenching. Those kids have nothing they live in little shacks with there family and are so dirty. Some of them only have pants or a t-shirt to wear when they come. And with monsoon coming Margie was saying that the water can get as deep as there ankles which when the floor of your home is the dirt you pretty much won't be dry. But let me tell you they can sing! They sang there little hearts out and yelled out the memory verse they had learned last week. I am so glad I will be able to spend time with them this summer.
Another thing I have been doing since being here is on Tues. and Thurs. mornings I get to go out with two ladies from the church, Ruth and Nista, and go visiting. They are such great ladies. I think it is such an awesome thing that they take time out each week to go visit people from the church and pray with them. And while we are out they have been teaching me a little Nepali which they then have me practice at each house we go to. Needless to say the day is filled with much laughter : )
God has been so amazing on this trip already. I have learned to lean on Him like I have never done before. Being in a country that speaks another language and not having your family and friends always there to support you is a hard thing to get used to.
But God has also brought an amazing new family into my life! English and Nepali : )
I've also been spending a good amount of time with Jenn and Leah and they are so fun! Last night we went to make dinner at this guys house. yumm. Jenn made some amazing popcorn chicken and me and Leah found our new calling to a fast food chain by making the best french fries!!! Yup I'm really staying healthy here in Nepal : )
Well I think i'm gonna try to check my email before I need to get back to the orphanage for dinner...hopefully it won't as long before I update this time : )
